Meetup

All members are encouraged to host MEETUPS so please email with your ideas. Maybe you know of a hidden little gem out there somewhere? A Karaoke dive bar with a fabulous KJ and incredible sound system (and no singers) just waiting to be discovered! Karaoke Utopia!! Maybe you live in a retirement community and will invite a few friends to join you in the clubhouse for this week's Karaoke show! The possibilities are endless!

We welcome all... those with limited or no singing experience as well as those who have sang professionally (or just sound like it)! Backup singers, dancers and listeners are welcome too!

Requirements to join: The desire to make new friends, a good sense of humor and the ability to laugh at yourself when you sing off key!

THE FINE PRINT

Please only RSVP yes when you really plan on making it to a scheduled meetup. We all know things happen last minute, but please update your RSVP as soon as you know if you have to cancel. HAVE RESPECT FOR THE ORGANIZERS... IT'S VERY DISAPPOINTING TO PLAN A MEETUP AND HAVE PEOPLE FLAKE!!

A word about drinking..... Some of us Karaoke singers who enjoy cocktails know we always think we sound better after a few drinks... right? But, being drunk has many disadvantages besides the obvious "I'm drunk" effects:

1. You really do not sound better ... your voice suffers since vocal chords don't work well with alcohol.
2. You will not be able to drive home, which means you will have to walk somewhere else to sober up.
3. You may embarr-ass yourself!
4. You may not get invited to meetup again.

Bottom line is, if you plan to drink more than you should, make sure you have a sober friend to take care of you and get you safely home.
